Anyone have a Rec Tec pellet grill? I have a 4 year old model 680 . It's been trouble free and cranks out good Que almost every weekend .
Prayer is the "ultimate" wireless connection .

I have the camp chef Woodwind with the seer grill and like it. Check them out. Delivered to your door in 2 boxes EZ setup. Also has a 3 year warranty and customer service is very good and responsive.
Still gonna set you back$1K.

I have a Green Mountain Grill and a Pit Boss. Got the Pit Boss first to make sure I would like it. The results on both are the same as far as taste goes. The GMG has more features, built in thermometer, wifi controls, etc..... The pit boss uses less pellets. Somehow it's more efficient but it also has more temp swings.
Buzz, I'll make you a deal on my Pit Boss if interested. I'm in Frisco also.

Anyone have a Rec Tec pellet grill? I have the Rec Tec and love it too. There’s a Rec Tec fb group That is awesome as well as customer service. If you have any issues with your grill they call you after hours as well. Nothing but positive things to say about rec Tec

I’ve wondered about the pellets, are the chunks cut into pellets or is it a bunch of crap ‘glued’ together? Serious question, never used one before and have only seen the bags of pellets at the store.

Bout to give up on finding a rifle, so, turning my focus towards a pellet grill The cheap azz in me makes me look at a Pit Boss The normal Buzz is looking at Rec Tec , Traeger, allot of dough for a smoker. I would get a small one but want WI-FI so I can monitor temp from anywhere. I don't smoke meat as much as grill and I have a fine 22" Kettle for this. I "can" smoke on it. how is GRILLING a steak on a pellet Grill ???  You're not grilling; you're smoking a steak. I have a Traeger. It's the best steak I've ever had. Simply reverse sear it. You need a thick steak to work. Smoke it until the internal temp reaches 125, then sear in a buttered skillet for about a minute on each side. It really is that easy.

If you are cooking a steak, put some charcoal or wood in your kettle. The only steaks I've had from pellet grills were seriously lacking on seared crust. It's perfectly ok for a grown man to have a gas grill, a charcoal grill, and two smokers!
