The wife called me outside to check on something on the fence. An adult hummer kept going to it, over and over. This baby was apparently just learning to fly. Twice he/she flew about 10" and then landed in the grass. I finally got it and put it on one of the feeders, hoping it would gain some strength. Mom kept coming over to it. I hope it finds a safe spot for the night. Sorry for the out of focus photos. Then as I go through the kitchen a few minutes later I spot one of the regulars outside. Along with his traveling buddy. Nice! I can't wait to move to my little spot in the country. I got yard deer and I got the far from the house deer.
Sometimes it's hard being me! But somebody has to do it.

that's pretty neat. Had a similar thing with a hummingbird chick a couple weeks ago. tried feeding it some sugar water, and finally resorted to pushing it's beak into the vessel, it perked up and was able to fly off.

Glad everyone enjoyed the photo. The wildlife was part of the reason we moved here.Almost every day we see deer, hawks, doves and have a fox with young that we see once of twice a week. Just haven't been able to get photos of the fox yet, but working on it.
