They do put the number of people in hospitals on the state's covid dashboard. We're beginning to run low on ICU beds in a couple of hospitals in north Texas.

If you had it once, what is the purpose of your mask? Just curious since most all experts say there is no proven case that anyone has gotten it a second time after they have the antibodies.

I haven’t been unless the business requires you to wear one. Their business their rules and now it’s a requirement in Dallas County. Saw a dude Saturday losing his crap because the store wouldn’t let him in. He was raging in the parking lot while on Facebook Live or it’s videoing the jackassery. Why berate and rage against the workers? We have to wear them at work now.

I spent a good portion of the day in San Angelo. I wore a mask into the cigar shop and Walmart. (I wasn't the only one at either stop.) I did not wear a mask into the John Deere dealer, Pepe's Cafe, or meeting Ramball36. Inconsistent I know, but hell, we're all trying to figure out what to do, and I'm quite certain we'll never know what was the right approach.

I don't think anyone that chooses to wear a mask at all times is fool. Nor do I think someone that never wears one is a fool. To quote the MD daughter - "Everyone's guessing."

I wear one when sanding / shaping all sorts of materials, when grinding painted or rusty metals, sandblasting, grinding or sawing concrete, when cutting stone, rock, pavers or tile waterless.
I wear one in severe dust conditions like dry rock road work, around rock crushers, doing dirt work in dusty conditions using open station equipment, mowing with my ztr it throws more dust than grass clippings.
I wear one when doing anything with fiberglass from small repair work to insulation, and when spraying paints, stain, sealers. I wear one when mixing and or spraying various herbicides / pesticides.
I wear one when doing demo work like pulling old carpet removing walls & ceilings, using a jackhammer in an inclosed area or stripping vehicle interiors and any time there is evidence of past or present rodent/varmint invasion in inclosed spaces.

So wearing one when in close proximity to other people to protect them or myself isn't a big deal, to me.
Even if the level of protection is debatable, from little to none to just mediocre.

If you think it is an invasion of your rights, I support that.
I wear one when & where I feel necessary to do what I think best to prevent future respiratory illnesses, if there is an outside chance it helps with any other diseases, icing on the cake.

Bingo. Why are folks telling others to wear masks? If you're concerned, wear one. Likewise, why are folks so scared of wearing them? If you don't want to, then don't. Want to talk about infringing on my rights, tell me what to do when you have no authority over me. All of that said, I fall into the "smart" camp. Not for me, but for those that I love and still want to see which are higher risk.

Oh, and by the way....

It’s interesting that they talk about the spike in the number of cases, but what does that really mean? Nobody mentions what the death rate is or how many new patients are deathly ill. We are getting the data that they want us to get. This whole mask and personal space separation was to keep from flooding the intensive care units and having more people on ventilators than we can treat. Well...where are we on that? Nobody is screaming lately about having no ventilators or space in intensive care. I’d like to see that data. I used to see daily data on deaths, but Fox doesn’t show it now. I suspect, though I don’t know, that it is no longer scream-worthy.

And if I’m way wrong, I will admit it.

I’d like to know also.

Houston is one example. It's looking like they will be like New York soon. OK, so you aren't worried about Covid. Would you like access to the ICU for a car wreck, heart attack, stroke, etc.? If it is full up with virus patients, or the staff is extremely distracted with virus patients, good luck!!!

I wear a seat belt because I think it smart. I do recall those screaming that their rights were being infringed with the seat belt laws of years past.
As long as doctors are wearing masks and it is working, I think that is a pretty good idea.
Even those that speak out (including doctors) that it doesn't make much difference I bet they will not go into a Covid ward without a mask.

I don’t care if other people want to. By the same token, I don’t want people in my business. That’s all.

You guys really think you can catch it walking down the sidewalk in your (Bill's) low density suburban neighborhood with all 1/2 acre plus lots, passing other people using the 6-10ft rule?

Man that's crazy. Do you guys wear a mask while you walk around your own front yard too?

I doubt it, since that makes absolutely no sense, to me.

Sneaky is not a bad one to ride with. I like his position here. If you are scared do whatever you want. No, I will not wear a mask. Stay home and do you. I got money to make and you cannot be scared your whole life. .01% dies

Yeah that comment made no sense to me either.

I've been wearing a mask since way before this crap started. Every time my FIL hooks up to his dialysis machine and he needs help I'll wash my hands and mask up. It's kind of like, I've never seen God but I pray.(not to suggest my faith is in the mask but in old times people covered there faces) I carry a gun on long trips because in San Antonio they want to take your stuff.(never needed it) I have to wear a seat belt because there are dumbarses that can't stay in their own lane.(needed it twice) I have to wear blaze orange on public land and still might get shot.(precautionary) I don't plan on falling out the boat but I wear a life jacket.(never needed it) Condoms aren't 100% effective but back in the day.....(glad I did) Wearing beer goggles doesn't permanently fix ugly.(well Willie said it best) Disciplining your kids doesn't mean they'll turn out the way expect them too. There are a lot of unknowns in the world so keep doing what your doing and I'll do what I do. If you walk up to me and I stick my arm out that means stop but I've always been that way.

Sometimes it's hard being me! But somebody has to do it.
