According to the TPWD, non-native Eurasian Collared Doves are becoming more widespread in Texas and showing up more often at suburban bird baths and feeders. With air rifles being legal in many areas (so long as you keep the pellets on your property), they might offer some good off-season or even year round back yard shooting practice. If you're not sure, check with your local DA's office to make sure air rifles are legal where you live.
