I would like to tell of my long awaited Nilgai hunting trip with Cody of Insite Hunting . I left on Wednesday afternoon for Raymondville in order to make a stop in Lockhart for barbecue . Stopped at Kreuz and it was pretty OK and spent the night .
I woke up the next morning to get to the ranch early afternoon for check in and rifle range time . Along the way I stopped to load up on ice about two hours from the ranch and I lined the bags of ice up on the side walk . I snatched up the last two bags of ice with my left hand and I knew I screwed up my arm / shoulder .
It was kinda sore the rest of the drive but as soon as I pulled into the ranch my bicep started cramping with great pain . I meet with my guide and I told him that I was in pain and raised my shirt sleeve and he said " oh crap " ! My bicep was on the side of my arm ..
He immediately called Cody and he said for me to go to my cabin and rest up . This whole time everyone associated with Insite was only concerned with my injury . The ranch owner was contacted he he asked for me to spend the night there with dinner at no charge .
I did want to go to the range to at least try it but as soon as i lifted the 338 to my shoulder I knew it was not going to happen . I did want to try shooting right handed but I have just had two right eye surgery's for a detached retina so I can not really see out of it .
The point of this story is the care that Cody , guide , and owner had for me and my situation . I was told to not worry about it and to come back whenever I was ready . These are fantastic people and organisation to deal with . I so look forward to returning and if you see this Cody , thank you again .

There are still a lot of good people around. Sounds like you met some of them.

Wow, you've been through the ringer. 'Glad good people were there to assist you. And very glad you didn't shoot right-handed after right eye detached retina surgery! shocked

Heal up and get back down there. up

Wow what a bad day at black rock. Praise the Lord you were with people that care more about your welfare and health than a hunt. Hope you get heeled soon and can get back to that hunt.

Man, so sorry to hear that, but glad that Cory, your guide and the property owner came through. Frankly, it doesn't surprise me about Cory, my experience with him was top notch. Here's hoping you heal soon so you can go on this amazing hunt!

Appreciate you sharing the experience. Been searching for a go-to Nilgai outfitter since my last was a bust. Gonna have to give these folks a ring. Take care and shoot us an update when you get back in the saddle.
