I found this in the back of my wife's grandparents' closet years ago, rolled up. It had some damage, which is why it's matted the way it is. Kind of has a Currier & Ives look, but it's not. Anyone seen it before or know anything about it?

Beautiful. Saw a rooster walk into my subdivision several years ago leading 9 chicks. My assumption was that the hen was setting a second clutch. I have a similar painting in my kennel. cheers

Here's the one in my kennel. It has only 6 chicks. Every picture I own festures either quail or bird dogs.

Here is what I found on Parent birds and their family of eleven chicks grazing in field

In 1932, a dozen collectors of Currier & Ives prints met to determine the 50 large-folio images they regarded as the best produced by firm. In 1933, The New York Sun ran an each image a day with a description of the print, much to the delight of the public. Interest in Currier & Ives prints escalated and the group met the next year to select the “Best 50” small-folio images. The 100 works are considered to be classic Currier & Ives and continue today to be some of the most popular of the firm’s output. The Cares of the Family, designed by Arthur Fitzwilliam Tait (1819-1905), was listed as number 44 on the list of original “Best 50.” This charming work shows a mother and father quail on a summer’s stroll with their family. The father keeps watch for danger while the mother hovers around their babies. The print formed a pair with The Happy Family: Ruffed Grouse and Young designed by Frances Flora (Fanny) Palmer (1812-1876). Many prints were sold by Currier & Ives to insurance companies who overprinted the image to use as promotional advertisements for their firm. Here the company plays on the image’s sense of protection and security to promote its services.

Also Currier & Ives have several very similar prints.

My wife had a special gift with needle point. She copied the Elhew pointers onto the back of a jacket and the front of a sweatshirt. I will treasure the sweatshirt forever.

Back in the day Herb Strasser offered to do an oil of my Brit for $500. I kick myself to this day. $500 was a lot of money for me back then.

I've seen this print before and wanted it then. As I do now.

Who is the artist please?

And why, today, remember misses?

Enjoying your first print of covey in flight, as it reminds me of a favorite of mine by Wayne Willis. Have a friend from my home state of Kansas that has a variety of Willis prints. Wish him no ill but hope he leaves to someone who will enjoy them wink.
