Two of my twelve grandkids were in town for a long weekend! Sure, I would like more HP, but my ugly old 25' underpowered pontoon was good enough for towing two adults and two kids at 25-26 MPH. (About as fast as I would go with a 6 year old and an 8 year old anyway. The "Super Mable" tube rides nice and had room for the four of them and their cooler for a 15 mile run up lake.

Making memories.

Marc

Brings back memories. I used to do the same thing on that lake. Question, do the sand bass still school over by the island? Used to just about every evening in the summer.

A long time ago when I was very young and indestructible , we used to tube behind a 90 mph jet boat . Special tube and rope . We probably ran the tube over 100 mph in the turn . The rope was so tight the tube never touched the water in the turn . If you fell it would take about 100 yards of bouncing on the water until you slowed enough to sink . Injuries were common . You had to tuck into a ball to keep from getting hurt . We had to wear Levi cut-off's , we found out quick regular swim trunks would not stay together .

Yes, Sir - and under our cluster of docks too.

That's why I don't want to pull faster than about 25 MPH.

And that's what it is all about! On days when the lake is smooth, we slow down to about 16-18 MPH and take 12-14 mile runs, without the sharp turns. Great way to tour the lake and drink beer while staying cool on a hot day. We have a hand signal for "beer break" so that they can open a new one and stow the empties in the cooler. My daughter and son-in-law are looking to relocate to this area, so it's a good way to scout neighborhoods.

Here, we slowed down to cross under the Hwy 198 bridge (a bit over 2 miles from home) on our way to Tool.

Didn't even know a pontoon could pull a tube. Look like a great time!

Modern tri-toons with big motors run 45-65 MPH and faster.

My boat is 21 years old and underpowered with 115 HP on a heavy 25' boat. But it is paid for, cheap on gas and makes some great memories!
