Has anyone made the decision against a taxidermist based upon the photos they post here of their finished product?

 No, but I think the horror stories posted are a public service to weed out the losers. And there are several so-called taxidermists that need to go out of business; maybe not because their work is like the above bobcat, but because once they get your work in the shop, the situation takes on the form of a con-artist with the lame excuses as to why it's not ready when THEY promised.

I see some of the work taxidermists post - and some post regularly - and I wonder how they keep getting business. There are GREAT taxidermists doing work and others that are mediocre at best, based upon the photos posted.

I chose a taxidermist off the forum to mount my lion. His pictures showed that his work is second to none. FWIW I like seeing people's work here and will make a decision based off it. Jerry's cat work is second to none in my opinion and after visiting his shop I feel the exact same way. He is top notch.
