Anyone know a great resume writer? Wife will be putting in for Chaplain jobs and asked me to ask y’all because I’m always telling her y’all are pretty sharp. Soooo her future is in your hands. Thank you in advance.

No pressure. I'm almost positive she can do this herself. She, literally, has The Wind in her sails.

I paid to have mine written. She really needs to tailor a resume to the position she is appling for. It's all in the specific resume wording to get the interview.

Tell her good luck and prayers up for her

Is she a recent graduate? If so, her school should have a career development center where they do things like that.

No, she’s an ordained minister but recently got her Chaplaincy also. She has plenty of Ministry experience but is looking for a job with a Hospice Agency or Hospital. Most want x number of months/years experience. She has no official Hospice experience but she has spent many hours and days with women dying from Cancer. That wasn’t a job it was part of the Cancer Ministry she started almost 8 years ago after the Lord healed her. The Oncologist gave her 6-7 months to live at that time.

Appreciate the help and of course the prayers.

You pretty well said it all But how to put that on a resume is beyond me. Best of luck.

Your getting too wrapped up job title and not her experience. She has 8 years of some percentage of her time working as a Chaplin without the title. She needs to empathize her actual work experience with cancer patients.

That’s a great point. That’s what she needs to hear, suggestions from a different perspective. Thank-you.

Have her put together a basic resume. Then let her tell her experiences form the heart to the interviewer. If she is on LinkedIn have her tell her story on the summary part of her profile and provide the link on her vitae.Tell her thank you for her courageous and encouraging spirit. Need more folks like this in the world today!

I did my own hiring as a sales manager for a drug company. I worked from a list of resumes from several who qualified. I also did the training. I ended hiring the person whose chemistry matched mine. It worked for me. I promoted more to management than anyone in the sales department. I didn't have a problem with equal opportunity when I had to hire a female. I hired a former miss America.

How did your "chemistry" work with a former miss America?

Inquiring minds want to know?
