I might be someone else's surprise! I was adopted at birth and did the ancestry test in January. i have 2 close 1st-2nd cousin matches and have reached out to see if I could find out more info. Might be interesting if they want to play the match game!

A really good friend of mine found out his father was not his father.

When they found out his mother had already passed and the father that raised him was not in good health.

They decided to not tell him.

He has two siblings who turned out to be half siblings.

Pretty crazy.

My wife submitted hers, she was raised by her paternal grandparents but she had suspected that he might not even be her real dad. Both mom and dad are winners. Anyways I always thought she resembled her father's side profile but she discounted it. The test revealed they were indeed her real grandparents and father which provided some closure.

This curiousity deal is interesting. Biological father chose to leave us when five. My Daddy showed up at 7 and that there was likely the single biggest advantage I ever got. BioDude sent me $ to visit him in Acapulco when I graduated from HS. Upgraded the stereo in my car instead. When the innerweb came along and he figured out about my business life and my crazy Aunt Ellie told him the oldest spawn was voted most pretty at HS and started out her work life at 140K with the other two being college athletes, he called and told me we were going to reacquaint ourselves. Yeah, right. I am not the one who missed out.

There are reasons this stuff happens. Be satisfied with who you are and leave it alone.

What I do think is that now that the technology exists, a DNA test should be done at birth to verify the true biological father no matter how much it pisses the mother off. That plus get rid of the legal assumption that all children born into a marriage are fathered by the husband.

That is one lie a woman should not be allowed to get away with.

I bet that happens a lot, seeing as how most women are naturally cheating whores.

That’s going to ruffle some britches! It’s funny as hell, though.

She needed a DNA test to determine she was half Chinese?

Yeah, she could of passed for Native American, especially if she wrapped a colorful shaw around herself. I would call her my little Navajo. On the other hand when she puts on one of those Mongolian hat, I would call her my little Genghis Khan. confused2 who knew.....

Not sure about this at all. I guess if you did this, you could just go and implant a chip at the same time. I know more than a couple of children knowingly or unknowingly raised by their real daddies and not their biological fathers. Not sure if it is a shame or not as some of 'em love their children to pieces and have done an exemplary job raising them.

My brother and a I did tests from different companies to see what would happen and we had my father's Maternal DNA tested. First thing I told my wife was "don't freak out if children pop up, you know I was in the service and I was married before." Turns out both of my grandmothers are Native American and our DNA was found to match people on the White Mountain, Navajo and San Carlos reservations. We always known my father's mother was Native American because she had lots of stories passed down to her and still lived the old way as much as she could, It was a surprise to find out my mother's mom was native American since her father was a Spaniard. The tests pointed out times and places where our Haplagroup existed in the US and it shows our ancestors were in Texas since the at least the 1600 hundreds in the Caddo Grasslands as well as Alaska, Canada and North Eastern US long before that.

Sometimes it's hard being me! But somebody has to do it.

That's pretty interesting.
