I want to get 1000 or more SR for my 6.8 and Grendel but no local places have stock. To ship costs about $70, nuts. It's looking like I may have to make a big purchase of primers and powder/s to make the hazmat fee worth it. What are you doing?

$20 hazmat and normal ground freight usually totals $35-40 when I make an order.

Depending on price, it may or may not be cheaper to order. When I looked at it last, I’d have to order 10k to break even over the local shop. However, LGS usually marks the powder up quite a bit, so I can save a few buck if I buy powder too.

When Chad's not available, there's a nice well stocked reloading shop in downtown Mesquite called SouthWest Ammo Supply.

Believe it or not, I've bought everyone of my primers from the Bass Pro closest to me. All I've used are the regular cci; 200, 400 and 450.the BPS in Katy always had some, including 1000 ct packs. My kids are 3 and 4 so before covid we used to just walk around the store all the time. Primers are the only reloading supply I get from them because they are competitively priced.

Same place I buy paints.

I shoot enough small and large pistol primers that I normally buy 5000 at a time. I also look for no hazmat fee sales. They happen periodically.
