i am going to miss the printed booklet. One in the truck and one on my desk have solved many debates. I may be wrong but hasn't there been a surge in fishing licenses form the covid. More unexpected revenue if all the people I see on the lake and behind the spillways are legal. Hunting license sale may spike also.

Know your refs before you get to the lease

Folks on here do more than just go to the lease. They go the coast, fish in various lakes many of which have different size limits, hunt public land ect ect. It's a lot to keep up with if you do more than just "go to the lease".

Hate to hear this - have been collecting the printed versions for over 20 years - not sure why except they remind me of seasons gone by.

Printed versions will still be available for those who take the Hunter Education Classroom Course. You might try contacting a HE instructor of the TPWD Hunter Education Department in Austin to see if they can provide you one.

If they are going to cut services, they should cut the cost of licenses.

My kids took it yesterday and received last years and was told by the instructor it was the last year being printed.

It's a special "Digest" version that will be printed without advertising and made available to instructors. Still, I suspect anyone who has been collecting them for 20 years would have a good chance of getting someone at the TPWD office to send them one to complete their collection.

I am exempt from HEC, but took one anyway with my boys years ago. I'll ask the local game warden I know to confirm.

At 72 I try to be as functional as possible. I have an I phone and do have the ap in my phone, However many folks my age are are oblivious to the technology. and some folks unfortunately just cant afford these luxuries. Not having the printed annual is just not right and will result in unreasonable violations in my opinion.

So between the tens of millions in revenue and pages of paid advertisement in the front and back, they can’t afford to print low quality paper booklets? I’m sure there are some bigger pieces of fat throughout the system that could be trimmed...

Yes I read that. This isn’t the first time someone lost advertisement money or a sponsorship. Some go out and hustle up another, tpwd lays down. I get its part of the technological advancement move, so just call it that.

I just use them for wildlife resource documents.

I love this aspect of the app. Plus it's a good app too. Great for fishing since I dont need my hard license - already caught my tag red this year

I am like many others, i dont have the new phones that i look up the app. I also like to have the booklet in my truck. My rant about them not putting them out. About 4 or 5 years ago i quit taking TP&W magazine, to this day i will get in the mail a reminder that i can get a discount if i renew, this is about every 3 weeks. For what they spend for this (and this is just me) they could put that money toward the booklet!!! 0.02
