I’m looking to put out 3-4 game cameras....I usually research the heck out of these types of things, but I’m terrible with technology. For simple cameras without cell service (we don’t get much at our place), what do y’all suggest?

Yours is the question of the century -------- I use browning, they make one now with 2 lenses,,, one for night, one for day,, about $170. I have used it for 2 months and it still says the batteries are 100%----- makes me wonder if it is stuck. I tried campark -- 2 of them,, one didnt work and have sent it back, the other takes great day time pics, but the movies cut off at 25 seconds, regardless of how it is set ;, night movies are 3 out of 10 in quality, but it was only $50. My guess is that if 10 people respond to you, you will get 10 different answers.

I am convinced they are all junk and won't last more than 2 years, regardless of how much you spend.

A lot of folks seem to like them, which probably makes them a good choice for someone not wanting to do a lot of research. Unless you feel you need one immediately, you can catch some good deals if you're willing to wait and catch them on sale. Just be ready because they often sell out quickly.

Thank y’all....most buddies have echoed that they’re all junk...no real “long-lasting“ models. I’ll check out the strike force.

Browning. I have tried many other brands. Browning is the best I have found. I base this on picture quality, reliability, customer support if needed, battery life and durability. I have read and studied to many post from other forums, and it always comes back to Browning. We ran 6 last year w/o issue. I have personally run 4 for the last 3-4 years. The only issue I had come up was a woodpecker knocking a hole in the plastic sensor. Browning had replacement parts and I was up and running after replacing the lens piece. TDan is right about the price. You can usually find them 85.-99. on sale before hunting season starts.

I believe most will serve their purpose as long as you don't expect more than a few years of use. Keep them in a shaded area and your odds improve greatly 2cents

tend to agree with others, most are very limited life span and treat as such ... but I now have Browning and StealthCam that I found on sale thru Midway USA at various times throughout the year where they are clearing out old models that come as bundles (camera, batteries, SD card ... sometimes even multiple cameras in a bundle). I have about 10 Browning and 4 StealthCam in the field currently, using the Lithium batteries that will last about a year. Last year they had a 2 fer with 2 StealthCam, 2 SD cards and duracell batteries for both for $79.xx ... free shipping for orders over $100, so I ordered 2 pairs. Picture quality are decent, night images decent to a certain range, easy set up, runs on 8 AA batteries.

Those at my Ozona place get checked roughly quarterly with 4000-6000 pictures each time and I typically replace the batteries every other trip but keep them to use in cameras in my closer places that I frequent more often.

I have only had 2 failures on the Browning in the past 7 years with one of those being underwater for an extended period when the Trinity river was at flood stage during the fall of '18. The other one was a fluke and just quit for no apparent reason.

Saw this on another board. Free shipping on $49 and over orders. I have zero experience with them.

Another Browning Strike Force vote. I have I think 10 maybe 12 running 24/7/365. Some for 5 years now. Use Energizer Lithium batteries or battery with solar charger.
Very few problems except for one finally had the flimsy cover crack from weather. Put scotch tape across and it still taking pics. I really like the Strike King Pro HD which takes great video but its about $159 and rarely on sale. I add a couple Brownings each year but only when on sale.

I've tried lots of cameras including Stealth, Moultrie and all the different junk from WGI. For around $100 camera, I'm sticking with Browning Strike Force models

I recommend going to trailcampro.com and read their reviews. I have purchased some through them as well... great service and 2 year warranty

The heat is what generally kills them. I take all mine up about Feb and put them back out in Sept sometime. I also use Brownings and have 1 Moultrie that's about 8 years old that still works like new.

Agree about the heat. Stay away from WGI. Moutries are OK but you won't get much life out of them, as well as StealthCam. The higher end Brownings are solid. We take down our cameras in late January and then put hem back up in mid September when we start feeding more.

Got a couple of Brownings. Also have a couple of older Bushnells that I bought off of a member on here, NIB. There's a Bushnell "14MP Bandit" on Amazon now for 70.00, if you're looking for a budget camera. On the last lease we ran a dozen cheap Bushnells and didn't have any problems. We, or rather I ( mad) took them down every summer, as stated above. I've only had one StealthCam and it became unreliable very quickly.

Reconyx is all you need to know. Mine are 10 and 8 years old and take as good pics today as they did when I bought them. Really, you can buy lessor cameras but you will also get lessor quality pics and longevity. Also, mine have been tied to the same post 365 days a year.

we started using Moultrie panoramic cameras - mainly because they cover 180 degree area. Moultrie sold a solar charger to go with them that kept the batteries charged. Then they quit making the solar chargers and we discovered when the batteries got to 50% or lower they would not take night pics!!! - Called Moultrie and they pretty much said tough luck - I am trying the brownings now

This is what I have started using and they work just as good as the Moultries I used in the past and much cheaper. Way cheaper to replace. I hunt public land where baiting and cameras are legal and i have private land that 250 miles away that I don't get to often so, Tascos are great.

I have Tasco and wild game innovations, all have been running for 3 years now, year round. They are in shaded areas, and I only do photos, no video. The picture quality is fine for what I need, and pretty reasonably priced.

I got a box full of dead WGI's, wonder if they will give me one new one for the dead ones? All the cameras are cellular these days.

I bought 4 of the Tasco last year in late July to early August....3 in the 8 MP and 1 in the 10 MP. The 10 takes a little better pics at night but all take decent pics in the daytime. The 10 MP was $39.99. The battery life is outstanding on them also. I picked up 3 of the cams at the end of Feb and most had 50% battery life left after being out since late July to early August with the original batteries. The last one was moved to my hog trap and I have not changed the batteries yet on it.
I have or have owned Moultrie, Stealth, WGI, Spy Point, Cuddeback, Primos, Bushnell and Reconyx. I have still have one Primos that is 8 yrs old now. Two Spypoints that are about done now at 7 yrs old. Reconyx is going on 5 yrs old and does not take very good pics for those cams...it has great battery life even with cheapo batteries. Bushnells are 2-4 yrs old now. WGI is about 5 yrs old now works good but is difficult to set at times..battery life is marginal. Stealth Cam is about 5 yrs old and works when it wants to. The Stealth Cam, WGI and Reconyx were all given to me by a friend that did not like them. For what I use them for, I will replace anymore with Tasco from now on. Really good cams for the money.

My experience with WGI customer service was not good. I won't touch their products any more.
