Baby bonnet head. Good thing it wasn’t a black tip or you might have people mad at you.

Just a quick picture before releasing. Carefully held horizontal with both hands. Blacktips not even brought into the boat, but hooks still have to be removed. You have nothing to worry about Rickym, no fish were harmed. No small sharks were intentionally targeted. Though I still have my Bull tag and we caught several, I even let all of them live for another day instead of tagging one.

Funny as hell man!!!

Tell me what the deal is with black tip sharks?
Can you not keep them anymore? I'm not a shark fisherman and pretty much stick to wade fishing in the Laguna or Baffin.

High fence, low fence, no fence, it really doesn't matter as long as you're hunting!

I second this question, I looked it up and it looks like you can keep black tips, am I wrong on that? Or was it released because of preference?

Some people like rickym get real anal when they see pictures of small sharks being handled improperly. Mine was not as a few extra seconds immediately before release to get a picture was not going to make any life or death difference, but some people are also of the opinion that they should not be taken from the water or photographed at all. I imagine he referred to blacktips because they are more sought after, though bonnetheads are just as important. I actually know about this from once having pet sharks for several years in an aquarium and have seen a pet lemon shark die hours later that was handled improperly out of the water. If they are held vertical out of the water, especially by the tail, it can damage the shark's liver or other organs causing organs to tear out of place. I guess because they have no skeletal structure to hold everything in place. So for photos or hook removal you want to keep them horizontal and supported if possible.

Completely incorrect, I was joking about the racial bs going on.
I keep multiple small blacktips every year.

I read book called Unbroken. They were lost at sea and caught a shark. They didn't eat it. I would have eating it.
