I had a ham Muffaleta at Jasons Deli last fall and I swear the damn things must have heroin or cocaine in the darn things. Over the past couple months I eat them 3 or 4 times a week along with about a bucketful of their peperchini peppers (Tasty!!)

Im thinking it the minced olive topping and peppers (salt) thats causing the craving. I eat Claussen pickles galore and drink pickle juice like some folks drink cold beer.

Central grocery on Decatur makes a good Muffeletta sandwich. Not the best in NO by far though. Napoleon House used to make a better one, and a lot of small shops do too. And my wife has the recipe for a great one, though she doesn’t make them often.

I bet Rocky and Carlo’s, down in Chalmette would be a good place for one. I always had the Oyster PoBoy though.

I’m hungry, thanks to you guys.

Its the juice. There must be some sort of endorphin orsomething similar in the damn juice. And not just the Claussens.

I used to buy big one gallon jugs of Best Maid whole dills from Walmart (what we called "picture show pickles" when I was a kid-that was the only place to get one) and I typically knocked out all the juice long before the pickles got eaten. I fixed that problem when I stopped to visit one of my siblings who owns several well known fast food franchises and we were sitting in his office chomping on quarter pounders when I saw someone walk by the door with A FIVE GALLON BUCKET of Best Made sliced dills. I happened to see one of his employees opening a bucket and noticed it had a hell of a lot of juice and outof curiosity I asked him what they did with it. He said they poured it down the drain which, imho, was as bad as pouring a good single malt down the damn drain.

If Claussen Pickles are that addictive. Try Marconi Peperonchinis. You'll need an intervention, in patient therapy and and a life time of 12 Step programs to wean yourself off the damn things.

I bought a big gallon jug packed full on Friday eve. It's almost empty.

It goes by a few different names. Depends on the type of sandwich you're eating.

I'll bet you a hundred bucks you've eaten a muff sandwich
