Just received an email stating that due to reductions in outside funding created by the impact of the COVID-19 outbreak, only digital versions of the Outdoor Annual will be available to the general public this year.

Fine with me. All of the necessary information is easier to access online anyway.

Last year it was in July I think. Definitely before the new licenses go on sale.

I keep the app on my phone, so no biggy. But I do occasionally like to look at the printed version. I used to pour over every inch of it as a kid.

Agreed and I remember as a kid doing the same thing.

This is good news for the TPWD budget. There is a good chance we may have seen the last of printed copies. I've been in the printing industry 24 years and this is the way it's been going for publication. Paper is expensive. I'm just glad I made the change I did 5 years ago.

This was due to the support of a major underwriting sponsor and various advertisers. Unfortunately, the unprecedented economic impacts of the ongoing pandemic have impacted this publication, resulting in substantially reduced advertising revenue."

Wish they could do deer and redfish tags virually somehow. They you wouldn't have to carry a license either.

That would be great and if you know you aren't gonna be in an area without cell phone service you can print out paper ones. Then once you return to an area with service you then can enter the tag info then.

New Mexico has a good system for this and it all works even without cell service. You download the app and always have your tag there. Once you get your animal, you "punch" your tag digitally and it uploads to the dept once you get back to cell service. It's pretty slick.

Go to the Outdoor Annual site and download the color PDF Outdoor Annual. As long as your phone has battery life, you can read it. It looks just like the printed version. There are also some nifty wallet cards you can print and laminate which have the seasons and limits. It's all right here under downloadable files.
