On the political side they went PC and removed the Indian Maiden from the package because someone got offended. On the taste side, Falfurrias is better.

Yep, and if you ever get to Wisconsin you can get some of the real good stuff. At one time they had AAA grade which you could only get in the state. Growing up there my mom use to have grandparents bring magazine when they drove up fron IL. Back then you could not buy magazine in WI..

I’d gladly buy one over the other on principal, alone. Any real butter is fantastic, however, I do think that Falfurrias has them beat in taste. I really do. I even compared it to the Hill Country Fare butter that I had in the fridge and have zero bias towards. No comparison. Not for me, at least. I’m sending my wife the latest shopping mandate, and I’ll be freezing this golden goodness in bulk for my return home, post-hitch.

clap You done good! Lol

That's a damn shame. Won't be able to do this any more.

Are you THFers telling me that a different brand of butter would have made this corn taste any better?

Two words....Miller's Country Store in Lott, TX. OK, that's like five words, but if you're ever passing through Lott for whatever reason pull them up on your MapQuest and get some, and some of their bread, too. Best bread and butter I've ever had.

ETA: I added the "TX" after Lott because it looked kinda' like Lott, OK, and may have been confusing.

When I had my machine shop I did a lot of work for Dairy Farmers of America, the makers of Falfurrias butter. It's made at their plant in Winnsboro and it is no different than any of the other brands they produce there. We use it at our house just because it is made in Texas. Their home office is in Kansas City, Mo.

Used to be a grocery store that my grandparents shopped at, the owners were Czech. They always had homemade sausage, butter, bread and pastries. But it was treat to buy that stuff there since grandpa and grandma also made their own.

My mamma made butter the old fashion way. She churned clabber. It left buttermilk with little bitty chunks of butter. That's where. The original sour cream came from.
