Does anyone here have any knowledge of this area as far as quality goes? Whitetail, dove, turkey, in that order of priority is what I'm thinking? Thanks in advance.

Some great deer have come out of there 180-200 inches. Don't know anything about dove or turkey. I had a chance to hunt there once with a friend and passed.

I may reply later but didn't you have an age and score last year, wondering how it went.

You remember well - I never saw that deer in the day light while I was there. I ended up having trail cam pictures of him from maybe four or five days from mid July through January. Mostly at night. He must have lived elsewhere and was traveling through. Or was smart. Or both.

You can PM if you prefer.

there is a growing amount of high fence going in north of there

the newest one I have seen is a place called 3 Guns Ranch on 104 just outside of Quanah I think that fence went in during the last couple of years

there is another place on 104 just south (I think south might be just north) of the Peace River across the road from the Peace River ranch that has been high fenced for a while and they are adding some decent metal buildings as I go by each time

I believe there is some high fence around Northfield as well I have not been that way in a bit, but I will go by there in a couple of days

there are some camps I see with nicer RVs near Northfield as well

and I know there are some bigger herds of 10+ down around Dumont including one that did an up close personal inspection of my right front fender one year just after dark coming out of where they had cleared for a new high voltage line for the windmill farms in the area

so either people are spending a lot of money on fence, RVs and other lease amenities to get way out to the middle of nowhere to not shoot a deer or there are deer there

there also looks to be some increase in land clearing in the recent years

Do you mean the Pease river? I'm not familiar with a high fence on 104. I know that there is one off of 6 on the west side of the highway.

yes my mistake on the river spelling

the one on 104 that is new is on the stretch of road that runs east/west from Quanah on a plot of land that is heavily brushed up still on the south side

the other one is right by the Pease River Ranch (big metal gate entrance on the west side of the road just south of the river)......the high fence place is on the east side of the road and you can see a nice barndominium looking structure and now they have another metal building that probably has living quarters a little further south they have recently built

my mistake I went by there today

the one by the Pease River is on the NORTH east side of the river on 104

the new one is on 104 @ Powell Road about 6 miles west of Quanah

was not able to go by Northfield because TxDOT is showing construction and a detour on that road
