Has anyone remove the suspension from their Mule Pro themselves? If so is there anything I need to know besides jack it up and hit the bolts with my impact driver? I have a set of ELKA Stage 2 shocks on their way as Im sick of the ride and body sag from the stock shocks on my pro fxt.

I put the HD springs on. Easy upgrade and well worth the money and effort. Take off the tires and it's all very easy to do.

I have talked to one guy personally who did the Elka set up. He was not a fan said he wished he had just stayed with his HD springs. Curious to see what you think.

I have elkas around 600 miles on them, I don’t know how you couldn’t be a fan. It’s same thing as HD springs, plus +-5 ” of wheel travel and an adjustable 0-4” of lift.

I can hit a curb at 20 mph and not slush a can drink.

Single hardly the best upgrade for a Mule pro. Takes suspension to a whole new level.

Op- I doubt you will ever adjust the down travel, you really have to be a tinkerer. I’d save money and just get stage one. Hesters Motorsport has a deal on Elka and they are pre-tunes/valued to his specs. Call him he did me right.

You might have to trim the top mounts an < 1/8 of an inch. Used a dremal, just need a touch of material gone. Took 1 min per shock mount. Other then that it’s a 10 min job if you have a tall jack.

Once jacked up, you can use a shovel to move the tire up for shock pin alignment/remove pressure to uninstall factory

Link just goes to general forum listing, not a specific post?

I saw a guy had same thing happen on an early year FXT, might be same one since it’s 2016 post , come to find out he had aftermarket lift installed by Dealership wrong. Elka are adjustable at the shock so no bracket to attach or shock angle change

Thanks Bobo, I have the hesters ordered but opted for the stage 2 as I do more trail riding type of use then utility type of work and I know the rebound adjustment will be nice to have when its sprung for 1200+ lbs.

up any questions on install let me know, pretty straight forward. But you will need a very tall jack

You will greatly enjoy them, they saved my butt last year, was hauling butt trying to get to a mule deer before dark and hit a wash that was about a foot deep, sprang right through it, and kept truck, if I’d been stock I’d probably flipped.
