I've heard nothing but good things about this product. A family member told me a couple guys were working on something else when they discovered something that virtually wiped out all the mosquitoes in the nearby area. I remember reading somewhere you can can make them from old plastic coke bottles but why bother. The two that come in the box are supposed to work for three months.

Available at Lowe's

Thanks Dan I’m going to check them out. My Thermacell lantern works good if the winds not blowing. Unfortunately it requires service and has to be carried around from area to area. Then I forget to turn it off sometimes so I always run out of fuel before I run out of pads.

I swear by my ThermCell as well but might try one of these near a deer stand for summer hog hunting if it appears to make a drastic difference in the yard.

Check the ingredients before rushing out and laying down your wallet:

Active ingredient: sodium chloride (um, salt — yup, salt)
Inert ingredient: Inert ingredients: fructose and yeast

According to Jeremy Hirsch, inventor and President of Spartan Mosquito Eradicator, "when mosquitos go in and consume the material, basically the material with the yeast and the sugar is constantly producing CO2 and mosquitoes have no ability to expel excess gas.”

So squeeters can’t fart and just blow themselves up.

Keeping my zapper plugged in and the extra $20 per month in my pocket.

You should see the mosquitoes at SLP. I'm not making this up. Some friends and I decided to camp out on the beach. We carried some of our equipment in a washtub. I was standing there with a hammer in my hand when a swarm of mosquitoes attacked. I crawled under the washtub. The mosquitoes started punching through the tub with their beaks. I commenced squashing their beaks bradding the to the tub. The mosquitoes all started in the same direction and flew off with the washtub. Look it up.

Wife and I bought some of those hanging mosquito things. If there was any good to come from it, we can’t tell. I had heard how good they worked, but looking back at that conversation, I remember it was the seller that told me that.

The Spartan's work pretty good. We started using them last year. Can tell the difference. When it finally stops raining, I will hang a couple of new ones.

Yes they work if you follow directions, timing and have realistic expectations.
Nothing will 100% eliminate mosquitoes from areas with heavy infestations.

I've used a home made brew recipe passed down for generations in all sizes of bottles up to 5 gallon buckets.
