Long story short. Shot a box of 147 eldm yesterday. The last few rounds were not 147 eldm. They were not tipped.
Will call Hornady Monday

Bet the poly tip was not in the bullet. As in same bullet, no tip.
Betcha a dollar they send you a whole new box of ammo. They do good work, except for Superformance.

When you give them the call have the box with lot number on it, they will usually want that information. I have seen them replace a few boxes of ammo

I stop shooting these. These are probably 140 bthp. If they don't want them back, i will take apart and weigh.

Where did you get them from?
Last time I bought a box of factory ammo from academy I had to go through a few boxes that had been opened in the store by customers and had a bullet or two taken out and were short one had a different brand same caliber bullet in the box etc. Kids or people playing/comparing and put stuff back in the wrong box.

Will call Hornady Monday Maybe the tip melted before you got them. I've heard they have issues with melting ballistic tips!

Tried Superformance .270 in my T/C Encore. Cratered primers and had to extract with a screwdriver.
