Im not sure im tech savvy enough to do this but ill try. May have to do in segments. We have this buck for 4 years starting in 2015.
2015-Typ 10.
2016-Typ 10 but added split RG3.
2017-dropped the split and had right 5 typ but left he only has a real long spike(dirty shedding or injury.) Some would of "culled" him this year but we protected him and it worked out really good.
2018-regrew left side cleanly and grew 5s making him Typ 12, and he lost the split RG3. Broke LG2 that year. Got killed, aged and measured. 2019 was a great horn year so no telling what he would of done.
He was on our NoShoot list every year till the year he was killed. Theres another thread about how to ID a buck from year to the next. This buck changed a good bit every year but we are confident its same buck. Always very long 4s and 2s shortish, among other subtle things. Curious how yall age and score him each year. Sorry these are about the best pics I could muster. [Linked Image]

It took me awhile to put that together so maybe hard to follow. Good luck guys, this should be considered an interesting one I would think.

16-3.5 in one pic 4.5 in other
15-3.5 but wouldn’t argue against 2.5

Tex Mex and a movie so I gotta hurry. Different lease from my other Age Scores. NWTx which ill call north of 20 and south of Red. West of Graham and East of Mule Deer country. Field dress maybe 140 150. Also when I score for reasons like this I estimate whatever is broken off and give it back to them.

Mcculloch county TX. 130ish 6.5 8pt. He had good beams for the area and slightly above mass for an 8pt. Just a really pretty 8pt. He was photogenic that day, wish I’d played with camera setting more that morning

Killed a 10 pt in Mason county in ‘99. Old rancher called it a “cedar buck” because it had short front legs. I say it didn’t have short legs, but it did have a deep chest. It was 6.5 yo. Not many that age killed in that country those days. Shot it from a 10’ tripod, no feeder.

I have killed a few in late season Jan’ish. Usually rough winters and they are just hungry, but yelp most my good buck pics come from hand corn or down wind 200 yards of feeder

some guys will say mature bucks don't come to feeders an that's not me. without checking records current lease maybe killed 80 100 mature thru years. almost all those were killed very close to feeders except mine. I also know that SOME mature bucks almost never go to feeder. i pass up bucks at feeders regular but im very picky about what I shoot. im a big believer in road corn an spot stalk. Just thought back an my last 6 bucks were spot stalk.

I think it’s moisture dependent, if it was a rough summer I think they are more apt to hit feeders in Nov.

Also think it’s ranch dependent, more feeder pressure less the come in

I'd call him 6 in '18, that would make him 3 in '15. We have a couple deer over the years that look a lot like him in '15, youngish and great potential. I seem to always try and convince myself they are 2.5, but later down the road seems more like they are 3.

definite agree on both points. ofcourse hungry deer of all size shape sex age come moree feeders. this season great growing season then got dry so hit corn best in years in nwtx.

We sat on our hands for 3 years with no bucks shot on our place rebuilding the heard back in 2007. Mature bucks were on cameras on feeders day and night all the time the first year we started taking bucks. In a few years time a lot of that has changed. We still see an occasional feeder made buck that lives under a feeder, but a majority of our other mature bucks come on hand corn away from feeders.

When you grow up with your buddies being rolled up under one, I would suspect they get a little conditioned.

I hunted on a ranch that was out fitted for decades before we got it, those deer where conditioned to come out at the end of the corn, not in the middle. Outfitters was selling a set # of deer and clients ran customers until that quota was met. Where do you the corn started for the lower level customers/employees vs big check writers.

I agree. Looks 6 to me as well.

Beautiful buck!

High fence, low fence, no fence, it really doesn't matter as long as you're hunting!

and the winner is..... he was BC scored at 146 assuming the broke lg2 was back on. We thought he was 2 first year and 5 the last. tooth wear seemed to show that but always hard to know. Front incisors sent to lab and aged at 5. Thanks for playing along and hope it offered some insight and entertainment. Stats on wide 9 coming up and the other 10 age and score threads the deer are still alive--feel free to chime in more on them.
