Contemplating buying a new Ryobi battery powered string trimmer that I'll be getting more "accessories" for in the future. Is a "brushless" motor that much better than a regular motor? Like $60 more better?

What does the THF say?

Brushless technology is great. My brushless drills, drivers, grinders etc. stay way cooler, batteries last longer between charges, and they seem to be lighter. I really notice it on my trolling motor, when you step up to a bigger brushless motor like that, the difference is even more noticed.

So what makes brushless better? This is something I’ve wondered for some time.

No wearing of brushes, no carbon dust, more efficient and longer life due to no brushes to wear.

I've not had good luck with Ryobi and I'm a Dewalt fan now. You will get what you paid for either way.

I upgraded to a brushless motor on my son’s traxxas RC truck and the thing really flys!

All my ryobi have brushes and I’ve not had a problem out of any of them. They’re all well used besides the multi tool. I just can’t find a reason to use it that one of the other tools won’t do.

Do your old attachments fit the Dewalt? I've asked this question every time we had cordless threads. Never had a reply.
