Is it just in my neck of the woods, or is anybody seeing that many of em? Was just riding in the Ranger around the pasture, semi tall grass, came back to the house and two on my jeans! Last week walked to my shop (my lawn stays cut) had one crawling on my long sleeve. More than i have seen here (have lived here for 23yrs) since i have been here!!

If t was just a city lot, I would suggest you get you some free range chickens. But in the country that won't work.

Mr.ox and dc up. They are the worst i have seen, one year had a few seed ticks in the pasture, because if we had to go in the pasture to get a dove during the season. you had look close.

Hadn't seen ticks here in awhile... None on the cows at the lease.

none yet so far. Its been a great past 12 months for YUGE numbers. The last time I have seen any is when stray cats were in the area. When you posted this I had just asked the dog if he had any bugs because I let him in the house. roflmao He later told me yes when he started scratching so I threw him out. Ill spray him and his area with Permethrin later this evening.

Thermacell has a tick product now. Don't know anything else about it, just saw it on their website.

Have an old tube sock with sulfur in it that I keep by the door in the shop. Always grab it and hit pants legs before going out to mow lawn, mow/bale hay or whatever. Just a little extra precaution. But like I said, hadn’t seen one in several years. cheers

So far, it’s been a wet year, Billy.
Ticks, chiggers and fleas thrive when we have a wet Spring.

Spray down with some Cutter 40% deet when in tall grass right now.

Hope you are well, dude.

Wifeypoo always loved a nice steak. Now she is allergic to beef. Of all things to be allergic to in Texas, that is a bad one. Physicians think she got bit by a tick that injected an enzyme which created this allergy. Still thinks I was the source of the tick. I get checked over pretty good when I arrive home.

Get you some chickens, when I let mine out each morning they sweep the yard eating anything that moves. Haven't had to spray for bugs in years.

Permethrin is fantastic, but the next best is Picardin. I've given up on Deet. Highly suggest the Sawyer products, the spray lasts 12 hours and the lotion lasts 18 hours -- neither smell and work while hunting
