Wonder how long before we see guided hunts for these... roflmao

4 foot lizards

DNR notes that as a non-native species, tegus in the wild in Georgia are not protected by state wildlife laws or regulations. They can be legally trapped or killed. However, DNR said animal cruelty and local ordinances apply.

Is there an exotic that Florida DOESN'T have? And all it comes from people craving the attention an exotic "pet" brings.

It's pretty sad how much of local ecosystems have been destroyed by people letting pets loose in the wild. Goldfish in lakes, pythons in the everglades, etc.

I watched a hunting show one day where the guy took a high-end air rifle and did some serious damage on iguanas with it. It was actually pretty entertaining.

There’s a spear fishing river clean up near the headwaters of the San Marcos River. They have a fish fry with all the non native species they harvest.

Yes. They're fun to hunt but pushing out native wildlife

Not really, Some states issue Land owner tags, land owner tags are 1) population control, 2) cost reimbursement for losses

Charging for hunting hogs is just property loss reimbursement

I'm not saying that invasive species aren't fun to hunt nor am I saying that everyone is against having them here. I was just stating that in certain areas they're wreaking havoc on the natural ecosystems and in certain cases have decimated native wildlife.

Don't get me wrong, if I ever find myself in Georgia I'll gladly shoot some of these and see what it's all about.

Maybe it was Iguana Man. He does this in Florida. Easy to find you YouTube.

We never seem to learn the lesson and allow thing like this to be kept as pets...WTF is wrong with dogs?! smile

Seriously, as if wild turkeys didn't already have to deal with feral hogs destroying eggs in Georgia, now this??

Those lizards have been in Florida for quite a few years. I saw one while staying at a resort once, the Breakers. The one I saw was about a foot long.

Thanks, Billy
