I have a half dozen fully flocked mallards and a half dozen GWT. I only use them occasionally and have shot plenty of ducks over them. Typically I just use them when wanting an ultra realistic small spread. On the other hand I use regular painted decoys 90% of the time and obviously shoot ducks over them in all conditions.

What are your thoughts? Do they make a difference?

I cant really say they they make an difference but for some reason am wanting to pick up a half dozen fully flocked wood ducks.

I hunt with regular painted woodies, usually 4-6 with a couple of teal or gadwall decoys 10-20 yards the other side.

I quail hunt with a bunch that have bought every single item that Bass Pro shop and Cabela's sell -- that has anything to do with quail .------------ I call it their mardi gras costume. Same idea with decoys, it is fun to play with, but has nothing to do with decoying wild ducks.

Most goose hunters use white rags for decoys .
