HEB had it on sale at 4 for a $1 today. I bought a couple for 50'¢, pulled the tough outer husk off and put them in the microwave for 4 minutes. Had them with some leftover spare ribs. Its been too long. Pass the paper towels please.

Microwave has become my new favorite way.
Add LOTS of butter, salt & pepper. Love it.

The microwave has also become our favorite way. Salt pepper, but no butter. bang

Its a special treat for me. I grew up eating field corn. We called them roasting ears. My momma would cut the corn off the cob and can it. She scraped the cob with the back of the knife and made creamed corn from it. She later discovered sweet corn and grew up to half an acre every year and shared it with friends and neighbors. Finally she learned to freeze it. Finally she learned that you didn't have to shuck it and blanch it to freeze it. You can freeze the whole ear whit the heavy outer husk removed.

Never have used the microwave to cook it. How long on high power? Wrap in paper towel or plastic wrap?

Cut off the ends, take off the thick outer husk, and microwave 2 minutes per ear. Cool and remove the silks under your kitchen faucet.

my wife picked up a couple of roasting ears yesterday and had that with pan seared catfish and navy beans. She just put water in a large pot to cook the corn. It was very good. She was over in the veggie section to get green onions and saw the corn on sale ...

Yep, I just grilled a bunch. My favorite. There's nothing like fresh picked sweet corn though. Pick it and cook it right away, boiled or grilled it's awesome.

Bill, you ever eat deer corn right out of the bag? I used to all the time. Deer corn and sweet feed for the horses was like candy to me LOL. Used to fill my pockets up with it.

As a kid mom boiled it. Most of the time now I soak in water and grill in the husk. Majority of the time growing up as a kid we just ate field corn not sweet corn. Corn on the cob, mixed in mashed taters, or corn casserole are about the only ways I will eat corn and if its on the cob it needs enough butter salt and pepper to make my Dr. jump.

Love it grilled too, as long as it’s not over cooked.

Rather cover with wet paper towels and microwave
than boil. Much faster/easier and just as delicious.

Butter. Always butter.

Husk on or off? Have always reheated steaks and other meats in microwave wrapped in wet paper towels.

Husk off.
I like to take it from M/W to table and get it buttered up while piping hot.

I prefer doing ours on the grill. Love the charred taste.

Husk on ears, soak for 30 minutes, throw on grill. If you like charred just a bit - peel back husks, silk should come along with it. Then baste with a bit of butter and BBQ sauce. Takes time but well worth finished product!

Or, soak the ears and throw on the pit until they're about done....then peel back the husks and sprinkle well with Butter Buds (granulated butter) and chili powder (w/lime is good too). Then fold the husks back down and through back on the pit for a lil' bit. Talk about good.

I'm not into the whole mayonnaise thing.
