Considering a light bar for my Pioneer 700. For reasonable illumination, what width would you suggest?
The Honda headlights are more than sufficient for night driving. I just want a little more forward lighting. Not looking to land aircraft.

I will have to measure, but I think mine is a 30" flood/spot combo, straight (not arced) on my Kubota RTV, does a great job of lighting things up out front. My son bought to put on his 3010 mule but sold the mule before install. I think it was some Chinese knock off that was very reasonably priced, like under a $100 ... that he ordered. I also have two rear facing 4x4" on both rear corners to illuminate the bed/surrounding ground for loading stuff, works great and were cheap (like $60 for four lights).
I'll see if I can track down where he got them from...

I have a straight 52" combo on my Mule Pro. It's like the sun when I flip it on. It was a cheap one off of Amazon. North Pole was the brand I believe. It's been working fine for about 4 years now and has held up to pressure washing. I'd buy another one of that brand.
I have a 30" made by Cyclops on my truck bumper. I'm not happy with that one at all. Can't even tell it's on when the headlights are on.

^^^PMK, you have a 30" straight bar that's a spot flood combo. I picked it up on amazon for $35. The 4 pods were $36 total.
I've gone to the cheap amazon Cree lightbars. The key is the Cree bulbs. I picked up a 50" curved cree spot/flood combo for my Canam defender (it's a pretty wide machine) for around $45. Even at $50 each, you can buy a lot of $50 light bars for the cost of one Rigid (or any other high dollar brand).

same here, happy with the Auxbeam brand on my hunting truck I put a curved 52" on my hunting truck roof and used a pair of $20 floods on the back. honestly, the small floods would have been PLENTY for the deer lease.
Been looking hard lights for my boat for the coast, I am tempted to spend more on name brand because of the harsh marine enviornment.

If it was me, I'd just get a cheapey. Pull the front cover plate off, silicone it really well, then put it back on. I'd make sure all hardware was stainless as well. Just a thought.

The key is the Cree bulbs. Definitely staying with Cree. Sounding like a 30-40" is the happy medium.

Looked back in my order history and I bought it 4 years ago. Looks like 300W.
I have mine mounted on the roof, so no reflection on the hood. Not sure what would happen if you mounted it lower.

Came across this guys, located in Buda I called and asked about their 20" beam which is IP68 rated and asked about it surviving on a boat in salt water constantly getting wet (was thinking of mounting under the bow deck) She said they were warrantied for 5 years, if it failed, they would swap it out. https://www.speedtechlights.com/led-off-road-light-bars

They are IP68 which is 1/2 hour submerged 1 meter. I have had them for over a year and work perfect. On the other hand I put some 12" marine submersible on the fenders and they have not performed as well. No salt water but Texoma is pretty salty. On the UTV I would go as large as possible. I have an Arsenal 42" behind my grille and a 30" in bumper opening on Tundra. 42 has been fine but one set of bulbs on the lower one is out. Probably a loose solder. I will never buy another Arsenal product of any kind. They completed ignored emails and calls on warranty.

I have a set of ridgid cubes on my atv before all the knockoffs came out. I can't tell a difference. Plus you can buy 5+ auxbeams for what the one rigid will cost.

I was at Advanced Auto the other day and saw they had Sylvania LED pods and light bars Decided to buy their 20" slim lightbar with 5 degree spot and mounted on the rail on my center console Haven't taken the boat on the water but it light up the neighborhood 100 bucks, I figured Sylvania knows how to make a light and if it craps out I can take it back to Advanced Auto
