I drain my oil form the valve at the bottom of my RV Cajun Fryer, through a strainer back into the original container, put in the kitchen pantry where the inside temperature is constant and it's dark. I use it maybe twice a year when I have a big fry that needs 5 gallons. Is this method good for say three years, six cooks?

Should be. We reuse ours until it gets dark/dirty....depending on what and how much you cook should be good for a 3-6 uses.... 2cents

Been there done that. No longer deep fry at home.

What are you frying? Fish, chicken, turkey? Fish only gets 2x usage and then gets dumped. YMMV.

I would put it in the refrigerator to avoid it going rancid.

I'm about to go the 4th time frying some bluegill in a few. I tried the last couple of times straining through a coffee filter. Slow, laborious process but strains all the small crap the sieve can't get.

I keep mine in the Cajun cooker and just add a little all summer. I watch the color and how much meal is in it.

we used to re-use ours time after time until it started getting darker. We would cycle fresh cut potato french fries as the last thing cooked, pour off from the top to leave silt stuff in the bottom after cooling, strained thru a tea strainer. We usually would get 8-10 cooks from the oil.
