bounce Been shooting black powder since 70's whin pard & i got inta slinger fastdrawing as a hobbie.
While still prefure the flint & petcussion (old school), age has played its part...
In-lines are more accurate & forgiving with the eyes & steadyness of age...
Still prefure the .45's but they tough ta find, & ones have found are way outa me $$$ price range...
Had bought a bolt action whin first got back... Price was right, but rifle had looked like no one had cleaned it.
So run brush threw for hour or so. Thought had it looking okay.
Gave little oil, then pard bought his break over. We went chooten..
1st round twas tough seating. & each got tougher.
Shot that day, cleaned therolly. We shot next day. Same...
Then cleaned & light oil, set it up.
Last week we did some chooten. Me barrell twas all messed up..
Didnt even try loading.
So yesterday went looking. Found this got 10%discount.
bounce we twas like two kids last night, talken bout old days, comparing rifles..
He has same except steel barrel.. & planning on friendly target sight in & this years deer hunt.

Tis all 4 now...
As pappy say's :
Keep your head held high & your powder dry...
Stay Safe...

White Falcon, cheers Thank you sir... Tis a tad bit proud...
Dang thing kick like a mule... bang me shoulders not holden up..
Always like the .45 over the .50 cal.
Tis gonna reduce the load for target, put on scope...
Get it zerroed in... Had taken hog with me .45 Kentucky using messure for me .44 revolver.
Roughly 22grs. .440 round ball.
The rounds for the .50 are heavier. Yet be using 50grs powder. .
Gonna do some tests... Shots will be close range.. If dont feel comfertable with results..
Kick powder (pellets) up ta 80gr a 50&30gr..

Truely would like ta hear thoughts...
Not sure wieght of the .440 ball,, surely lighter than the .50 cal propellants but 50gr twice as 22gr.
Hogs tougher, thicker hide..
Again, starting with 50gr, easier on shoulder, less flinch for sighting in..
If need push ta 80gr for hunt...

Twas using 100gr, Tripple Se7en pellets with these, forgot wieght, & type.
Came with rifle.
Pard has basicly same rifle, except steel barrel, has best luck with power belt..
Thoughts ? Thanks for updates in the public hunting section... Miss hunting it...
Ya'll have way more options...
Tactical Cowboy,
cheers pard & i been doing friendly shooten since the slinger fast draw days in the 70's...
Always a good time...
Tis planning a muzzy deer hunt...
Keep your head held high & your powder dry...

Good shooting colt! You still in Minnesota? I’ve been out of the loop for awhile.

FYI I drew Kansas muzzleloader again for my lease up there this season. I can’t wait!

Shoulders are k-put...
Been using Tripple Se7en FireStar pellets. 3 equal 100gr.
Pard useing two 50 gr. & throwing in 30gr. He has best luck with the powerbelts.

I've got a newly acquired 45cal as well-- any idea on your twist rate? Just got a sizing die and bunch of arrowhead bullets (full bore) to try out with it.

duckhunter175 think it tells on barrel, not @apt right now.
In-line kinda new ta me. 50cal we tried several bullets.
The powerbelts easiest loading @ got the group in pic posted earlier.
So i got some 250gr powerbelt...
Others on here can be more helpful...
My .45 Kentucky always used 440 rb...
Got some Seasoning butter, scratch coat it with that before shooting...

Best wish's sir...

Been shooting my cva accura long range the last two weekends. I have put three different powerbelts(245,295, and 300gr platinum) carnivore 250gr ridgeback, and hornady 250gr sabbots though it. Pyrodex, white hots, and triple seven pellets With a Nikon monarch on I it, and still can’t get it to group better than my tc Hawkins with open sites. I’m about to send it back to cva.

Put can on gravel pile, loaded aim squeezed trigger..
Neather of us seen were it hit..
Told him shoot, i spot... Same thing...

Started yelling : hold it, look down barrel, Tood him i am looking down barrel.
He said : No, forget sights, look down barrell.
confused2 opened other eye, & barrel had acurve in it...

Took it back for replacement...

Are you running a .45 or .50cal Accura LR?? What are the Kansas ML restrictions (sabot or no, scope or no, etc). If you are able- I would get over to Scheels and get the BH209 breech plug and 1LB of BH209.

If you are running a .50 cal- get on Harvester's website (https://www.harvestermuzzleloading.com/index.php/products/scorpion-pt-gold) and try the 260gr Scorpion PT Gold)-- If you need a full bore bullet try the Carnivore 300gr. If you can't find either shoot me a PM.

Try 80gr (by weight) of BH209 behind that PT Gold-- I used this recipe in 3 different Accuras, 2x V2, 1xMR- all with great success.

Hope you can get up and running before Kansas!

Look at Pittman and Parker bullets- they both have full bore options that stabilize in 1-28!
