I just received my latest Shooting Illustrated. Lots of new guns out from myriad manufacturers......especially rifle caliber pistols......check out the Remington 700-CP w/Arm Brace. Very handy suppressed rig IMO.

Serious question here. Wouldn't that short of a barrel really reduce the effective range of those calibers? Also seems like if you are right handed and using the brace as intended you'd have to do some contortions to work the bolt or at least change the position.

edit: It looks cool, but how practical is it even as a truck gun?

They are not ideal for long range, however within 200 yards you don’t lose much velocity.......hunting suppressed Sapper Titan uses a bolt 308 cut down suppressed and slays the hogs he shot 4 boars and a sow with the rig this weekend........brace is solid enough for working the bolt....just shorter than the regular butt stock and why they have the longer rail on top for optic eye relief....practical truck gun for hunting but not self defense IMO.......

I've often wondered if there's a time each year when the gun makers announce what new models are soon to be available. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but that appears to be in January during the annual Shot Show.

I don't understand the "bolt action pistol." You basically lose all the benefits of a bolt gun over a semi-auto, with the exception of certain state legality issues. It seeks to me that cutting massive velocity, of a 6.5cm especially, defeats the purpose of running a necked centerfire rifle cartridge. But, I don't have to get it I guess. I've never understood peoples desire to own a Desert Eagle either, but they sell.

What’s missing is no one uses the braces as intended, it’s just a little shorter stock. Actually a pretty good idea, shocked no one else has done it.

It's a bolt action so you manually cycle the action to load each round.

Doesn’t do much for me. Go with a semi 6.8, 6.5 with brace and now you’re talking.

Oh, gotcha....I thought everyone knew how to run a bolt.

Yeah... a braced bolt action pistol is kinda like an AR that your 3rd cousin's brother-in-law built... shoot, work the action, shoot, work the action...

Honestly the more braced pistols, the better. Maybe the bigger numbers can help keep the rule-changers at bay!
