I like to save the hind quarters from a doe and the hams from a big pig, freeze them, then cut bone-in deer steaks and bone-in ham steaks. They're perty. Cutting ribs is a breeze too.

There was no chicken in my store today. Usually 3 coolers about 5 wide and 40 feet long each and all 3 empty.. So yeah, there's a meat shortage.

Glad I have a freezer full of meat. Hope people don't start raiding and stealing peoples food out of their garages.

It sure does feel like the media is trying to get a run on meat going.

From San Angelo Live, an online news reporting on Abbott's comment about Amarillo.

Quote
Right now, he said, the State is assisting county authorities in Moore County. There, 240 cases are linked to a JBS USA plant. The Amarillo region supplies 25 percent of the nation’s fed beef supply.

I'm leaving at 1:30 from work to pick up my city neighbor and his son. I'm going to take them out so they can acquire some fresh pork off my place. My country neighbor says no 'meat shortage' there.

Just got back from Sam's club in Sherman, meat department is pretty whipped out some beef steaks, no chicken, frozen fish.
Went to Wally World and found chicken. More selection than Sam's club but still slim.

Walmart was a little short on beef and pork but not chicken. I bought 2 things of chicken legs on closeout. I guess chicken legs aint choice cut so nobody wants them. LOL Didn't see them limiting purchase of meat either unless I over looked it. Either way all I needed was 2 packs of chicken legs anyway.

Well I have never cut chicken up to fry, but I bet I could figure it out. It cant be more complicated than filleting a fish.

I never was much on rabbits. Squirrels were my favorite thing to hunt growing up and I could butcher one dang near as fast as filleting a fish. After raising a few of the little tree critters I don't have the heart to hunt them anymore.
