I was on a lease a few years ago and a guy had round pipe about a foot off the ground. There were pigs and cows on the place and it kept them out.
What if T posts were wired horizontally about a foot off the ground instead of hog panels? Would that keep pigs and cows out? Would it be a problem with hogs digging under the T post?
It may be a stupid idea.

most cows will step over something like that in most areas I have been, little hogs under it and bigger ones over.

I think it would be a lost cause.

I've got 30" cattle panel feeder pens and have hogs jumping into and out of them. Not a bunch, but some.

40" height is probably minimum. If you have only 30" your pen is not doing its job.

I have 32" hog panels. I've seen hogs jump to get out but never to get in. I make gates for the hogs and deer to go in. If I do not want hogs to go in, I close the gates . Deer jump to go in when gates are closed. They go under when the gates are open. They always exit over the top when gates are open or closed to get out. I use 8-10 panels.

Standard 34" hog panels work fine if the pen is built big enough to contain all corn thrown. Have some corn thrown outside, pigs will keep coming back & testing the pen.
I've never had a pig go over 34" hog panels.

I've never had a pig go over 34" hog panels. Me either and we have used them for years on quite a few leases.
