How about some wisdom on the subject of a feeder used only to sling wheat, not corn? Does it work all the same? The feeders most easily obtained in my area are Academy's house brand.

I wonder if it will be at all possible to discuss this subject without exploring why anyone would want to sling wheat instead of corn. Probably not, but thanks all the same.

Corn slingers will sling a lot of different grains, so I would imagine if you are talking wheat seed, it should....

There may be some jamming issues from the wheat seed, but probably not as long as the space between the feeder hopper and the spinner is big enough

I used my road feeder from academy to sling the oats and wheat i planted last year. Think it's the Forever last road feeder. It doesnt work great for planting, but good enough for what i did. I just made a run down the row, turned around and saw about the distance it was spreading, adjusted my next row accordingly and took off again.

I mix milo and corn, it slings fine.

me too, mix about 90/10 to 80/20 corn/milo ... I suspect they would sling wheat, but with that being lighter weight, not sure distance or if there would be more feeding out when not wanted.
