Property Tax appraisals are already out. I've submitted my protest. They changed up the "Search" functions on how to find other properties that sold in your area. I finally found it. Property searches of sold properties, select "Sales" and you can zoom into your area and see what properties have sold near and around you. This is for your information to research for your protest. https://www.dentoncad.com/gis/

Time to bend over and break out the KY Not if you know how to play their games. I've ended up having to do a one on one with them the last few years. They always value it too high. And the comps I'm seeing this year, I'm hoping will be much more in favor of my numbers. We'll see.

Mine is Collin county, I have fought them every year for the last 10 years. They are pretty tough to deal with. Collin county hasn't went out yet

If you know what to look for and how to do a little research, it's easy to do it yourself. It takes me a few hours of time and some copy paper and some ink. It saved me over $54,000 last year protesting the value. This is why I posted the GIS link. Denton County changed it up this year and has a different search feature and how you research it. It makes it harder to find, unless you know where to go. With that link, it's easy.

In Rockwall county I’m hearing that they only went up 2% on the value of the home but they increased the value of the land as much as 30%. We have ours frozen but I know there are people paying $5,000 to $7,000 in property tax in Rockwall.

Not in Denton County, but in my neighborhood, some are way high and others are way low. Problem is that two homes on my little street are in escrow now, that sold for way more than the county appraisal.

A Democracy is when two wolves and a lamb vote on the dinner menu. That is why this country was specifically not designed as a Democracy. We are a Constitutional Republic.

Van Zandt CAD posted on Facebook and more or less encouraged everyone to protest. Said that they had petitioned the governor's office to pass emergency legislation to allow them to adjust values down - since current legislation doesn't allow for any changes after values are determined. We'll see. I'll protest it most likely.

This is my problem in Denton County. Like someone said find a home like or similar to yours to see values of each. Well mine is a double wide with solid brick with a stick build addition. No such item to match with. Yes I'm over 65 it's the value of the property that keeps rising not so much the structure. I fight every year some are good some not so good. Anybody have any suggestions forme on how to fight better?

Mine went up 30%. Will definitely be protesting.
What annoys me the most is you're rewarded with ridiculous increases yearly if you take care of your property - my BIL's junkhole increased 5% and he's next door.

Use this link below also. I found some of the "Sales" info on the GIS page are not up to date. Go to this link below, and on the top right, select "Sales". Do a search in your neighborhood by the neighborhood code or subdivision code they assign to your area. This will pull up any sales that have occurred. Use 2019 data, not 2020 data. Research the houses sold in your area to run comps to your home. https://www.dentoncad.com/home/advanced

I still haven't found the link to sales. On the GIS link, go to the top where you see "Layers". Open that up and click on "Sales" and "Parcels" so you can see the sales and what the property number is. It helps for the researching part of it.

Ok, I see where it is. Thanks. I am also comparing the proposed appraised values for the rest of my neighborhood compared to mine and I am finding big differences on the price per sq ft. I am using this info also for comparisons.
