A sounder had been showing up regularly at 8pm for the last 7 days, so I decide to set up an ambush for them. Got in the blind at around 7 and sat there, sweating like one of the target species. The thermometer on the wall told the story of why I was such a sweat hog. I gave up after I could no longer see my cross hairs. The piggies failed to read the script, and I didn't see a single one. A tall, icy Tecate was waiting in the cooler in the truck and it was definitely the high point of the hunt!

Funny thing about patterned hogs is that they don't know they are supposed to maintain the pattern! Well, at least the Tecate should have been good.

If you find yourself feeling useless, remember it took 20 years, trillions of dollars, and four presidents to replace the Taliban with the Taliban.

Sometimes the Universe puts you in the same situation again to see if you’re still a dumbass.

That blind looks more like a well house or something.

I have pigs on camera coming to my windmill trough pretty regular around 7 to 8 almost every evening. I thought about trying to ambush them. Your experience has helped me come to my senses. You've saved another member a lot of sweat and probably a tick bite or two! cheers

The sad thing, DNS, is that I don't remember this! Time after time after time. One would think that someone with even a room temperature IQ would eventually come to understand that! Hogs work on HogTimeCentral, not on HumanoidTimeCentral!

True. Also true is that we all of us with game cameras do it, or are at least hopeful that it will work.

Yeah, the hogs don't always show up, but I still try to find some sort of pattern. I'm much more willing to sit out in a spot where hogs have been frequently appearing as opposed to just randomly choosing a spot and hoping for something to happen.

I have two unwritten rules:
1.
2.

You're absolutely correct der Teufel, and those are the odds I play. Unfortunately the odds have been in the hog's favor for the last 40 years, and I think they will continue to hold the "house odds" forever! They deal, we play. Or they play us, as the case usually is!
