Or maybe he was serious. On our old lease the doves would come in droves 100-200 every feeding they mopped up corn quicker than javalina and a pen does no good.

Obviously no dove hunters have replied so far....
I don't waste time and money on feeder fences either.

We are overrun with turkeys in the fall, so fencing does no good. They are feathered vacuum cleaners, along with every other bird.
I understand exactly what the OP is saying!

Once i learned that i didn't "NEED" to kill something, and that if i did kill something all the fun stopped and work began, i was a much better hunter.

I have had good LUCK....with a owl decoy .........when they get used to it ......move it around.........turkeys hate them.......

Fear may be a better word. Great horned owls do a number on gobbles every spring while they’re on the roost.
