My oldest is in college and was wanting to get a dog. So he ended up with a German Short Haired Pointer. One of his buddies works on a ranch and got if for him. It was from a litter of their quail hunting dogs. He got him yesterday and the pup is a month old. He said that the dog seems like he is really smart and he is working on potty/ crate training him. 4 weeks old? And it’s already weened? That seems a little early to take one home.

His buddy told him he was a month old. I don't know for sure but he looks bigger than a month old. I think he is a pretty good looking pup. Can't beat it for free!

That's awesome for him, he's going to have some great times with that pup. And at college, holy smokes the girls are going to flock to him!

Love the free dogs! My Britt was free from a friend. She will be 14 yo on October 1. I got her at 6 weeks, I think it was a week too soon.

I can agree with that statement. No such thing as a free dog.

Yes I agree with this 100%! Let's put it this way he acquired the dog for no fee but he has put in a few hundred bucks in supplies and stuff already. He was taking him today.

They only had 1 male left that they kept to train. All of the rest of them have been sold.

Here is another pic of him from the other day. He is doing really well and is already potty trained. He seems like he is a very smart dog.

Had a pair of GSH a few years ago, both good bird dogs , however, the male hated cats, killed everyone he ever caught.

Good looking pup.

Question - how are the GSP’s as pups, versus say a lab? Are they as mouthy/destructive?
