Im stuffed. Sunday night is steak, baked potato, and salad night. I decided to eaton my patio.

I took me time with my fresh garden salad, pulled my steak off the grill, and had to stuff myself to finish. Here's what I had left.

Ever think of or skip your starchy foods? Cut back?

I would have skipped the salad and had the spud loaded up with butter. But then again, I don't eat salads anyways, never have, never will.

I regularly skip the starch my priorities are protein, then fruits and vegetables, and then carbs. I do make sure I eat some whole grains to support my gut microbiome.

Homemade ranch is only way to go. No store bought ranch.

I’ve skipped the potatoes 2 nights in row. What is wrong with me?

Try a cauliflower and turnip substitute. I had to really cut down on carbs, our friend makes cauliflower and turnup mashed mix that is better and is also lower in calories.

A lot of the calories also come from the added stuff. I usually just add some of my homemade ranch pinto beans to the mash, and with salt and pepper it is good to go.

Anything that advertises itself as being a "Great Value" usually is not. I sure hope that is a stick of genuine butter.

BTW, I routinely replace taters with boudain from Best Buy. I get the smoked version - seems to have better spice in it, but maybe it's just the smoke. Friends from LA have been bringing me batches for years.

Yep it's worth the minutes of effort to make.

Haven’t had a baked tater or French fries for months. My body screams for fries.

I couldn't pass up the sweet corn tonight. We ate field corn when I was growing up. We całed them roasting ears.

I like to buy the Hidden Valley powder ranch packet and follow the instructions to make ranch. Sometimes I add an avocado, sometimes I add chipotles......
