We’ll be camping soon near Hico, and wonder what might be of interest around there.

Koffee Kup Kafe...llllooonnnstanding tale the joint was the local meeting place for the KKK in the day. We used to hunt south of Hamilton and it seemed it was always a topic of hunt lore.

I ate at the Koffee Kup Wednesday on the way to DFW, everything was good, even the coconut merengue pie!

Hamilton was just as bad as Hico when I was in HS, mid 90’s. Played against Hamilton and Hico in Basketball. Wound up goin to college up the road at Tarleton.

I always like to look at the Day Tripper and Texas Bucket List websites to see where they went when I am going to a new area.

We had a nice trip to Meridian State Park with our travel trailer, and saw the sights in Hico, Clifton, and Meridian. The Koffee Kup and Wiseman’s chocolates were excellent. Also worth a visit was the gun shop on the Main Street (North Pecan?). Great gun shop, with tons of new and used stuff, and some rather exotic weapons. If you find yourself in Clifton, go see the Bosque County Museum. It was by far the best museum I’ve seen in a relatively small town.

As for the Billy the Kid Museum, well....it’s maybe worth a short visit.

And, there’s a small place in Hico (Eir, I think) that has terrific sandwiches and excellent potato salad. It borders the highway at North Pecan.

Enjoy the museum but Brushy Bill Roberts was not Billy the Kid.

LOve Hico, always eat at the KKK before continuing down to the Hill Country. Hico has developed its "Downtown" to a cool shopping area.
