For those that have tripods with the canvas style seats do y'all remove them after the season or leave them on? also if you leave them on do you cover them with something to protect them from the sun and elements?
Debating on what to do with mine and my brothers.

we used to have several, the seats were trash within a year or two due mainly to the UV rays (plus coons, owls, etc.). It was easy to merely lift the seat off the spindle but awkward with the stand vertical, so I replaced the seats with a folding hard plastic bass boat seat that had a locking feature (open or closed) that lasted 5+ years. Bought at Academy.

Remove them. Mine the whole seat/shooting rest comes right off. The weather, sun and birds will ruin them quick and then you'll have to replace. So take a few minutes and remove and then reinstall in Sept

I removed my brothers one year and it ended up losing the plastic topper of the pipe that goes under the seat post. the other issues we would have is storing it at the lease as I really don't want to bring them all home in the off season.
Thanks for the replies.

Go to Cabelas or bass pro and buy the kits that you attach to the base and seat.. uses the same bolts.. Just slides on and off with ease...They are in the boating section....
