We have all heard it, we all expected it, but a survey of one health network's cases in NYC showed vast majority of the corona hospitalizations and majority of deaths had comorbidities, namely hypertension and obesity.
5700 patients in Northwell Health system had their records reveiwed as part of a study. They found median age of 63, 52% had hypertension, 42% were obese in those patients whose BMI was calculated, 32% had diabetes.
Vast majority of those folks that went on ventilators died (their number was 88%) and the majority (it didnt' give a number) of those had diabetes.

These are just numbers, hard to take anything away from the numbers game. Not trying to take away form the fact people were sick and died, thats not what I am saying here.

But the numbers clearly show comorbidities are bad news for those with COVID-19. The study did not say whether these people were well treated or poorly treated htn, DM, or what-not, just the existence of the comorbidity was a factor.

Bottom line, be as healthy as you can be but genetics and lifestyle do play a role in how you die.

Get out of here with your facts lol! If people believed this effected their health then they would have to take personal responsibility for their dietary and life style decisions and we all know how popular that is in today’s society. Btw I am 6’2 290 so not some skinny punk preaching to fat people.

We've had a 95 year old female who was admitted about 2 weeks ago after a positive Covid test. She was asymptomatic for several days, then developed respiratory distress. Tested and found pneumonia, but it was bacterial, not viral. Treated the pneumonia in the usual way and she's being discharged today.

SA, I have not heard anything specific about that and I don't know if it will pan out as a promise for the future. But we will see as the spring progresses. Tarrant county had new 100+ cases over the last 24 hrs, and while this may be testing bias, we have been previously relatively slow to grow, so I don't know that it is all testing bias.

You got it backwards......it's not hard for you to stay away from people without masks..........I'm not wearing a mask........because I think with my brain........unless you grown your own food and water if this is as infectious as they claim and you believe your mask is not going to help you IMO, but wear that mask with pride if if helps you control your fear..........

My health problems are not from life style but Agent Orange, all diagnosed as Agent Orange connected, from blood pressure to diabetes tp heart issues. If I croak with Covid 19, did the virus kill me or the underlying health issues Either way I would still be dead, but if the cause of death is the underlying issues of Agent Orange, the VA pays off like a slot machine to my surviving wife.

No but I am hearing that October will be a heck of a month and things should be clearing up after November 3rd.

DHS Undersecretary of something had charts indicating both temp & humidity and UV rays kill the virus very quickly.

So, I called Trump up and asked him myself. Apparently he had someone up to explain yesterday, and yes the warmer temps, and humidity will slow this virus down. So there will be pause during the summer months. up
