I am putting in two new timed protein feeders...any suggestions for feed other than Double Down?
Not high fenced so not trying to "grow" horned freaks - just trying to give them something (TASTY) they are not getting from the neighbors so they want to hang around. Have only fed corn on my place up to this point.

Dilley Feed also produces RHR. It's much less than Double Down and is at $9.95 per fifty. We've been feeding it for a couple of years now. I believe it is still a peanut based protein and the deer seem to love it. Not typically as clean as L&E, Antlermax or Fehner.

The cheapest, supplement type attractant that I have ever used and was effective was "Buck Grub" from Evolved Habitat. It's a grainy powdery supplement that you mix with corn in either a spincast or gravity type feeder. Can buy it in either 5lb. ($12.99) or 20lb. ($19.99) bags and watch the deer hit it hard. The year or two that I mixed with my corn, I seemed to attract more and better bucks to my feeders. Plan on running it again this year as it's been a couple of years since last doing it.

DQ, do you use it thru out the year are just during deer season? If memory serves me, it was primarily during season or just a tad before, starting in Sept. and ending in Jan. I will say that a little of Buck Grub goes a long way when mixing it, I would think a couple of cups full per every 25lbs. or so of corn should work...Hope to experience similar results this upcoming year.
