I’ve got a pistol that I just topped off with a Trijicon RMR red dot. It’s a 10mm Glock 40. It will be on my hip at the ranch, where we have a decent amount of hogs. I will be practicing from short range, and out to about 100 yards. Trying to figure out at what distance to set the red dot for.

Just curious what others have set theirs for. This is my first time working a red dot on a pistol.

100, that’s where mine is set. I keep 4-5 inch 5 shot group at 100, I think half that is due to a 3MOA dot.

25 is where mine is set. Works from 10 to 50. What MOA dot do you have? I got the 6 MOA so that has some impact on perceived POA/POI

Looks like 75 would be pretty good. This was assuming a 180 xtp at 1275 (hornady’s spec) and sight 1” over bore.

Same thing with 100 yard zero. That would be too high for my taste for everything within 100 yards.
