I tried Dane's Craft BBQ it Ft Worth Saturday and it was legit. Brisket was fantastic and the sausage was a great surprise. Thought about not saying anything so the word doesn't get out and the line gets long but they deserve it. Much better that Heim or Hard Eight. I'd put it up there with Pecan Lodge without the drive to Dallas. Definitely want to try 407 and Hurtados next.

The drive between Dallas and Austin makes me want to cap myself. 407 all the way.

Same. Any reason why no one has brought up Tender? I'd take Tender over the Frisco Hutchins any day

We used to have an Austins BBQ in Oak Cliff way back when, well an Austins BBQ opened in Addison at Keller Springs & Addison Rd. and I had reminisced to the wife about having the same name!
Well she surprised me and picked up an assortment of meats, Brisket, Ribs, Spicy Sausage and Pulled Pork. The Sausage and Pulled Pork were good just okay good, the brisket and ribs were Not.

So folks if you are in the neighborhood and hungry for BBQ, stay hungry and keep driving laugh

Hard 8 is good but kind of seems like a chain type place. 407 became my new favorite the 2nd time I had it.

Okay after having the sausage with no liquor involved it was pretty good, everything else remains the same.

Big D in Mansfield is great, run by great people.
Heim is always good, with multiple locations the lines not so bad
Cattleack is the best in DFW but get there early
Terry blacks opened in Deep ellum, i was impressed when we went a couple of months ago.
Slow bone is a solid go to, the brisket chili is outstanding.
Pecan lodge and Lockhart are hit or miss, can be really good one day and tough as hell the next.
Derek Allans is a gem, very good
Panther island is worth the wait, but usually not too bad.
