I get it when the wind blows the wrong direction. It sucks but I get it so often that it doesn’t bother me much anymore. But I follow a similar plan to what everyone else does. Hottest water I can stand in the shower, scrub the hell out of it with dish soap. If it gets bad, I’ll scrub the hell out of it with alcohol on a rag. I stopped doing calamine or special soaps several years ago, they didn’t do me any good.

Not allergic. Some are. Some are not.

If I know I’ve gotten in it I go shower and soap it up real good right away.

After a hot shower I will use a hairdryer as long as I can stand it,then apply whatever!

Acetone will dry it up quick.

Also don’t take a hot shower. It will spread, everywhere. Speaking from experience. Benadryl will help some til you see the Doctor.

I have found showering regularly with Dawn dish soap will remove the oils and aid in a quicker recovery. I also use Ivarest spray to avoid touching the affected areas and spreading the oil.

Go to the Dr. And get a steroid shot you'll be better in a few days. It never used to bother me but in 2015 that changed.

Only thing I found that helps is sit in the house in my skivvies,crank up the A/C as cold as possible,dont let anything touch the sores to start them itching. And take a massive dose of Benadryl,a borderline toxic dose. Then just wait till it heals on its own.

My wife says get a topical steroid if you can. Aloe and calamine if you can’t.

So far I am not bothered by it, my kids and wife are not so lucky. I get to be the one to remove it for them and my hunting buddies.

I got some topical steroid from dermatologist once. Wiped it out in 3 days.
Found a small spot on my chest showering one evening, after working outside all day with no shirt. Took really hot shower and didn’t touch the spot. Next morning woke up and could barely open my eyes, the **** was on me from head to toe. Went to ER, they gave me a large dose benedryl shot. Told to lay back and take a nap. That was the worst I’d ever had it. Caught it 3 times that summer.

Water as hot as you stand it and wash very very thoroughly with Dawn liquid. Relief.

My wife has extreme reactions to poison ivy and what she uses is pure emu oil. For whatever reason, it does help her more than the other choices.

Everyone's system is different. Experiment to find whatever works for you. Thanks to big brother, all the good stuff that worked years ago, including preventative shots, has been pulled of the market.

Best remedy for me was becoming immune to it. Haven't had since a kid thank God. Got it all over exploring the creeks. And kids haven't got it either so guess I passed immunity on to them. Lot's of calamine lotion.

Otherwise, douse area in gas and light on fire! Same as chiggers.
