Hey guys I have a question I found out about some property that’s in my family I never knew about. It’s 140 acres in between Santa Anna and Bangs. Full of oaks/mesquites with 1 large pond in the center. No one has hunted on it for a good 25 years.
What is that area like deer population ? Just curious if it’s worth setting up something for this coming year.
Thanks

There will be deer there. In that area a rare trophy is possible but the freezer fillers will keep you in food. You will also have hogs.

It will be worth setting up a stand. I’d be excited about the dove hunting. I had a girlfriend in college from Santa Anna. I killed some decent deer but the opening weekend hunt during dove season was great. They had a huge party, but back then I killed a limit of dove in Angelo every evening.
