I’m seeing on their website that Coushatta casino in Kinder, La is open and running. Not sure on others. My question is are the indian casinos/reservations like Coushatta, that basically are their own country be forced by state law to shut down? Apparently not....wonder what gives there?

There’s and old gamblers saying....casinos and morgues always run 24/7....That may be truer than ever now.

It's a gray area. Tribes that are recognized by the feds do have their sovereignty, which allows them to operate casinos as well as sell gas and cigarettes without huge taxes. But, they are always at odds with the state. They will typically tie everything up with lawyers and drag things out for years. All the while they're still up and running. There are a few tribes in Texas that are doing this now. One in El Paso, Eagle Pass, and another one around Livingston. IMO it's one of those things that the state doesn't really want to spend time and effort fighting due to the gray area, but want to appear that they are fighting it.

Some states like Oklahoma came to an agreement the tribes there for broad regulations, which is why they are everywhere there.

I thought one of the politicians from LA stated Trump screwed up by not shutting things down sooner. Which is it?

I am pretty sure the state has the authority to stop people from entering or leaving.

I believe Oklahoma casinos are closed. Or, at least Winstar and the other subs are.
