That is a good deal. Basically getting the scope and mount free. But I wouldn't put a PST, even a Gen II, on a rifle that nice. That thing deserves an ATACR or NX8.

yeah, and $1K for a TAC-A1 (or even $1200) would be a steal

No ......now having to pay sales tax kills it.

I bought the Tikka TAC when Cabelas had them on sale in 6.5 Creedmoor. Doug at CameraLand fixed me up with great deal on a scope but not a Vortex. It shoots better than I can with some crazy off the cuff load I concocted.

$1941 after tax, so $1966 after FFL. An MOA version of a PST Gen 2 isn't going to be easy to unload. Probably around $600 I'd guess? So you get a 308 Tac A1 for $1400 plus the hassle to sell a scope. Not a bad deal, but also not giving it away.

The MOA scope is the deal killer for me but great set-up for someone wanting to buy a whole package.

Putting a Vortex on that rifle is like putting a 4 cylinder in a Corvette.

Just a thought to the lefties. Have you tried shooting a chassis rifle with a right hand bolt?

In the field, hunting, and shooting off-hand; I only carry left-hand bolt guns. On the bench is a different story. There are actually some advantages to using a right hand bolt on the bench.

I've had a few chassis rigs with righty bolts. They're fine for shooting from a bench if you're not on a clock. They cost me too much time in matches though, so I sold them all and replaced them with lefty rigs. It takes too long to get back on target when I have to let go of the stock with my support hand to cycle the bolt.

Not really, if you care about speed of cycling, and maintaininga sight picture. And that matters supported (prone, bench, seated, kneeling, standing) or unsupported, same positions. If you're squeezing the trigger left handed, the bolt handle needs to be on the left side of the rifle, always. You do not EVER have an advantage, with the bolt handle on the wrong side.

You can dang sure shave the skin off your left thumb if you’re not paying attention doing that.
