Not much of a farmer and always wanted to give this a try. I spent the last several months doing research on food plots and in East Texas Seed kept popping up. I gave them a call and shared with them my soil test. They suggested how much time, fertilizer and seed blend that does well in the soil we have. Was able to prepare a good seed bed over the last could of weeks and disked in the lime, fertilizer as well as seed this past weekend. Not expecting too much until the soil get to where it needs to be but looking forward for what’s to come. I’ll try to keep this post going with future pics.

Lots of rain this next week and know I may be a little early but don’t see any freezes in our future, just hope it doesn’t wash away.

Great looking food plots up Interesting blend of seed, Cowpeas and Soybeans I get, Okra and Sunflower? Surprised there is no wheat, oats and legumes??

Best of luck to you and be sure and put hog panels around your feeder or you will have the hogs tearing up your food plot and running your deer off!

welcome

Thanks, will do. When the hogs show up, the deer do leave. I turned off the feeder a couple of weeks before I planted but didn’t think about keeping the hogs out.

Also which seed did you buy from the east Texas seed company? The 25 or 50 bag?
